Yes, it's Back!!

We took a nice break from the treasury challenges, literally months!! I hope everyone had a nice Holiday & New Year! And now we are almost into spring!
I have had a really good past few months~ As many of you know, I have Crohn's disease & Ulcerative Colitis which gives me exhausting bouts of pancreatitis. Last year I was in the ER over 50 times, had 2 colonoscopies, and 3 surgeries. By the time October got here, I was so overwhelmed that I really thought about throwing in the towel. Then one of my friends called and asked if I wanted to go on a cruise... I immediately called the travel agent & booked it. I visited & hiked The Mayan ruins, snorkled in Beliz, visited Mexico & Honduras, cruised around the Caribbean sea for 8 days and came back refreshed!

I know many of you have probably thought I had given up on keeping these challenges going, but what I really needed was a pick me up. While I was on my cruise, I came back and found out that a treasury ( not one of our team) that I made, made the front page, and two of my items on other treasuries made the front page. I had a boat load of sales while I was sailing on a boat! harhar.
But it made me realize that treasuries DO help sales!

So, this notice is the "Official Commencement" of the Folk Reveries Team Treasury Challenge.

So get those fingers ready, not just to curate, but to click, comment & share on other team members' treasuries!

The Folk Reveries Treasury Challenges will run every fortnight (by-weekly), then members will be given a week to vote on them.
The curators of the winning treasuries will be announced along with any prizes that will be given.
The winner will also be awarded by having curators use one of their items per treasury made in the following challenge.

All of the rules for making a treasury for this challenge can be found here.

So, our first fall treasury challenge will begin on Thursday the 9th, and run til the 23th- Voting will begin on Friday the 24th and a winner will be announced on or around Friday, March 1st.

To make this challenge even a little bit sweeter, the winner will receive a $15 credit to ANY of my shops!

i love that this treasury isn't just visually compelling, but it's also based on russian folk tales that inspired the ballet "swan lake," as well as the black swan and many other interpretations. it's interesting that so much of the imagery and concepts expressed by our team members in their art have such long histories and deep resonances.

Treasury Challenge Winner (Week of 2/14) is ThePaperButterfly

There were a number of stunning treasuries, this week (notably, the Keys to the Dark Garden treasury by Tirabaralla, and also this one by Veronika of Snowberry & Lime). Caitlin's treasury was exceptional in her use of a coherent theme, and fresh colour. So please look to ThePaperButterfly to inspire your treasuries for this upcoming week!

The team's leaders have been having a bit of trouble choosing among the treasuries, so we would like to begin putting it to a team vote every week. It's been suggested that the leaders select the top three treasuries made during the week on Friday, let the team vote over the weekend, with the winner to be announced on Monday. We could start this coming week. What do you all think?

Introducing Weekly Treasury Challenges!

Starting Monday, the Folk Reveries team will have weekly treasury challenges! Here are the Rules (and some general guidelines, too!):

• The challenges will run from Monday to the following Sunday of each week, with the winner of the previous week to be announced early in the following week.
• The team leaders will select the most beautiful and inspiring team treasury made during each week.
• The winner's shop will then be featured in the following weeks' treasury challenge! That means lots of views for the winners.
• To make your listings easy to find for treasury curators, include the team tag "folkreveries" in your listings!
• Tag your treasuries "folkreveries" AND "folkreverieschallenge".
• Use at least 8 folk reveries shops in your treasury. Try and include some of our new and "undiscovered" members!
• Post the link to your treasury in our team discussion forum (I'll start a new thread each month).
• Spread the links all around! Blog, facebook and tweet our team treasuries as widely as possible!
• The more variety of items you include in your treasury, the better your chances of making the front page.
• Clicking on each item in your team treasuries increases the views!
• When tagging your treasuries, look for the latest "buzz" words - they are often listed in the Storque and I will try to post them on our team page.
